There is no greater feeling than knowing God is there waiting and willing to help when we stumble and fall. Trials happen to all, but not all turn to God for rest. Jesus commanded us to look to Him for that rest:
“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30)
Whatever we might be suffering, we do not have to go through it alone. The Lord God will rescue us from our tribulation. All we have to do is ask. If we sincerely open our hearts to Him and want Him in our lives, He will surely not allow us to suffer beyond that which we can bear.
The good news is that his son Jesus suffered so that we could live. Salvation is ours now. No other comforting thought gives us more hope than that of the day we will rise to our Heavenly Father with everlasting life.
Before then, let us lay down our trials at the foot of the cross and spread out our hands in thanks. Let us carry our burdens to our God and lean on Him for strength.
Most of all let us rest in the Lord.
It’s a restless world with so much jostling & bustling here & there. Consciously or unconsciously, even believers are caught up in the web. Thanks for the reminder
And with technology the way it is, as it was supposed to make things easier, it now takes up most of our time, and in some cases, causes anxiety with some people. I am incredibly thankful for God’s rest and His loving kindness toward us, that he would reveal His glory through His Word to those who believe!
I really love that passage.
I always go back to that verse whenever things get tough. It puts me back to where I ought to be.
There is a song I like…Just give me Jesus …it just reminds me Who I should be looking for
I really do like that song. These lyrics speak to me the most:
All I’ve been chasing
Putting my faith in
Let it fade
Let it break into pieces
Wonderful song, Steve!
Thank you! Keep up the good work Brother 🙏
He is so strong when I allow Him to be… 🙂 I’m working on letting Him have that position of strength more and more as we lean into Him.
This is so wonderful to hear. Keep turning to Him for strength! Blessings
Thanks Jack,
It isn’t God that causes US to fall, BUT it is GOD who takes ua by our hands and pulls us up, dust us of and nudges us forward.
Thank You Jesus
Continued Blessings,
Patrick
This reminds me of that old Footprints poem where God and me are walking on the beach producing two sets of footprints, but then there is only one set, which is God carrying me. God truly is gracious toward us.
wonderful reminders
I am always amazed by how easily it is to forget the simple things the bible teaches us. Resting in the Lord is one of those simple things. Blessings.
God bless you Pastor Flacco
Blessing to you also.
may compassion love and understanding be the diet for all, amen
