The night before Jesus’ death and burial, He took His disciples to Gethsemane to pray. Leaving them behind, He went alone to be with the Father. During His most sorrowful moment, Jesus sought God’s will.
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.(Matthew 6:9-10)
During our most sorrowful moment, who do we seek? Jesus made it clear that all power and all glory belong to the Father. No matter what we suffer, it is all for God’s glory. His will ought to be what we seek.
Dark days will come upon us, dreadful trials will draw near, yet, we have God as our redeemer. He will give us the strength to move forward in all tribulation. We ought not to be anxious, for our Lord and Savior will give us rest.
How great God is to look upon our lives and find us befitting of the trial we suffer. For through that trial we give God all the glory and honor befitting Him. Through no other means, other than by God’s will, do we have peace.
Your will be done.

I’ll always remember when I learned to acknowledge “God’s will be done” and began laying my burdens at the feet of Jesus. The freedom of knowing His will & plans are ALWAYS what’s best for me is amazing. Am I perfect at it, no but I know the difference between what would be my plan and His. His is divine and perfect.

A deeply moving and faith-filled reflection. 🙏✨ The story of Jesus in Gethsemane reminds us that even in moments of profound sorrow and uncertainty, we can turn toward God and surrender our fears to His will.
I was especially touched by the central message of “Your will be done.” Those words carry tremendous strength—not as a denial of suffering, but as an expression of trust that God remains present even when the path ahead is difficult.
