Praise the Lord!

God is our Father. He is our king. He created all things, sustains all things and perfects all things through His Son, Jesus. We are His children, loved by Him, protected by Him and nurtured by Him. His heart is in us and we are joyful because of it.

Praise the LORD!
Praise the LORD from the heavens;
praise him in the heights!
Praise him, all his angels;
praise him, all his hosts!
Praise him, sun and moon,
praise him, all you shining stars!
Praise him, you highest heavens,
and you waters above the heavens!

(Psalms 148:1-4)

God stretched His hand over the waters and gave life to all the earth. The mountains sprung forth, the rivers gave way and the dust surrendered its firstfruits. The stars sang, glorifying His name: Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty.

Great is our God. Great is His holy name. Great is all that He made. Great is His countenance. Great is His throne. Great is the government He established. Great is our God and king.

How great is the Lord Almighty? Measure the universe from edge to edge and His power is greater. His love overflows, pouring into His creation, giving birth to His children, who will praise Him night and day. Great is our God. Great is His name. Great He reigns forever and ever. Praise the Lord!

  1. I haven’t check how many times praise is mentioned in the scriptures but I know its many. The Lord deserves our praise and we are told He inhabits our praises. What a wonder.

    1. From what I’ve read, praise is mentioned over 6,000 times in the Old Testament and just under 700 times in the New Testament. There is quite a lot for which we need to praise God. Praise Him always and forevermore! God bless!

  2. Thank you. I love the Psalms. So many speak of our majestic Creator. The more I observe His creation, the more in awe I am.

    Praise the Lord, indeed!

      1. Thank you for you kind words, Jack.

        The beauty of this time of year is so easily taken in. It is calming and seemingly simple. The reality is that, at a microscopic level, it is very complex and it is obvious that a loving creator was involved. As you noted, on top of that we have the story of His amazing love for mankind. That He would humble himself to such a degree truly speaks of his great love. It is such a blessing to be allowed to talk to Him on a personal level.

        May God bless you as well!
