God Is Our Fortress

In our weakest state, in that moment when we are about to do anything to remove a trial from our lives, our only choice is to look to God. He, and He alone, will give us the relief we need to rise from our sufferings and move forward.

God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way,
though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea,
though its waters roar and foam,
though the mountains tremble at its swelling. Selah

(Psalm 46:1-3)

We have no reason to fear. God is great above all other gods. He is the one and only God. If He can create the simplest of flowers, how difficult is it for Him to rescue us from the sufferings of this present age?

Our hope remains in God the Father, who sacrificed Jesus His Son for the forgiveness of our sins. We should count it all joy to know that our tribulations are for a purpose; and that is to change us to become more like Him every day.

What may seem impossible to us is possible for God. What may seem extraordinary to us is ordinary to God. He takes the weak from the world, imparts His spirit and builds His church. We are of the body of Christ; fashioned of the same countenance; saved by God’s grace.

No one other than God is our fortress.

  1. Dear Jack, thank you so much for helping build further our faith. A gift from God ever so precious. Ever so powerful. May His name be praised forever!!! ❤️💚💛💜💙❤️💛💙❤️

  2. Great Post Jack,

No body; NO BODY can love us as much as Jesus Does!

God who can be defined as “Every good thing Perfected” is our Perfect Lover IF we permit Him to be. Amen!

    God Bless Jack,
    Patrick

  3. Amen Jack, amen. God designs our trials so that we cannot succeed without leaning on Him for everything. God so longs for us to give to Him our everything so He can set us free but too often we try and try to live this life and go through the trial without Him. We need to understand that He desires for us to call out to Him so we can make it through.

    Blessings,

    1. So true, Homer. When we lean on Him, trusting Him in everything, relieving of ourselves of the trial and passing it to Him, that is the moment we will be the closest to God. The ultimate sacrifice that He made for us proves His love for us. How wonderful He truly is!

  4. With permission and faith, protection, help, and courage,
On the Way to Goal and Purpose:
    The construction and expression of the honest and permanent Image;
    Immersion in the Holy Sea!

From the salty sea to the Holy Sea!
Each and everyone, bought by the Royal Blood of the Lamb!
    With Water, Blood, and Fire!
To the LORD’s Wife and Heavenly Mother!

“And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.”
    Revelation 15:2

      1. The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. Psalms 18:2

  5. God loves it when we look to Him duty our weakest points. This actually helps glorify Him, which is the purpose of our creation. Our sermon on Sunday was actually in regards to this and it was preached out of the book of Judges. You’re right echoes it, Jack!
