God promised Abraham a promise only God could promise. Abraham was to receive millions of descendants from a son, who had yet to know life; born, no less, from a barren woman, whom God would open the womb.
“For he says to Moses, ‘I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.’”
(Romans 9:15)
If God could open the womb of a barren woman, how much more would He do for us if we believed in all He had promised? He would count our faith as righteousness and we would have salvation through His Son Jesus, who sacrificed His life for us.
If we believe Jesus is God’s Son, we have life. The Apostle Paul made it clear that God’s grace has no bounds. There is no requirement for salvation other than faith. Our works work toward our reward. Blessed are those who keep God’s commandments, for they will have life.
How should we live then? Love God and love others as we would love ourselves. Be patient and kind toward one another, loving one another, as God so loves us. For through love we have knowledge of God. God is merciful.
