When the apostle Peter delivered his sermon on Pentecost, he was not the man who had denied Christ three times. His strength came from knowing God had forgiven him, and he had gone to become the rock upon which Jesus built His church.
“Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, ‘Brothers, what shall we do?’ And Peter said to them, ‘Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.’”
(Acts 2:37-38)
After having repented, Peter had received the gift of the Holy Spirit. Jesus promised us also the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father would send in Jesus’ name and would be with us forever. Through repentance and baptism, we would receive Him.
Repentance is recognizing we have done wrong to God by not obeying Him and asking for forgiveness for those wrongs. By this, we open our hearts to Him and turn away from our sins, doing good always and not wanting to commit the same sins any longer.
Let us therefore look to God for the strength that the apostle Peter had when he stood in front of a crowd of thousands to proclaim Christ. Through God, all things are possible and through Him, we no longer ought to be afraid of the penalty of sin.

So I offer you a biblical hope this morning not a relativistic one. These people in verse 37 were cut to the heart because they saw that God had made Jesus Lord and Christ, but they had killed him. In other words they were utterly at odds with God. They were living against his will. They were out of step with his character. They were in violation of his Word and his Son. God was one way. They were another way. And they did not have his affirmation. Nor should they have had their own.

If YOU KNOW that Jesus Built “His Church” (Mt. 16:18: “MY Church”) upon Peter (The One True Faith and Church …Eph 4:1-5)…. How and why is it that your not Catholic? …Truth is defined as “The Reality of what it is.” Amen

Patrick, have you not read where Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him,” (John 14:6-7) and even more so, in Corinthians where it is written, “For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit” (1 Corinthians 12:12-13)?
Therefore, if Jesus is the truth and God calls us through Jesus, and if we are all one body made to drink of one Spirit, why would you limit God such that He would only do His work in one church?
Yes! we cannot limit God to one church other than the one true one He has built through His Holy Spirit. Many put God in a box and bring Him out only for sunday worship. God Bless You Jack.
