God Will Give Eternal Life

Not many promises to the elect are as direct, as resilient, and as foremost, as that written in the book of Romans. Few promises stand out as being the one promise for which every Christian ought to aim: eternal life is God’s gift to those who believe Jesus is His son.

“He will render to each one according to his works: to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life; but for those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, there will be wrath and fury.”

(Romans 2:6-8)

Our lives are in preparation for a time far greater than the mortal life we are living today. Eternal life promises a life with God the Father and Jesus sitting at His right hand, glorified with them and judging the world.

The destiny we look to is beyond anything we can imagine this life can provide. The ultimate joy we will experience once we die will not compare with the lifetime of pain we may have had to endure by claiming Christ as our savior.

Yet God’s grace over our lives is worth more than mountains filled with gold and chests brimful and running over with jewels. Nothing comes close to what we will have after this life, for God will give eternal life.

God’s Steadfast Love

We have cause for great celebration with the Lord, for His spirit is powerful, just and righteous. No evil is too great that it can overtake us. No power is too strong that it can overwhelm us. And no spirit is higher than that of God’s spirit, comforting us in our time of need.

Who is a God like you, pardoning iniquity
and passing over transgression
for the remnant of his inheritance?
He does not retain his anger forever,
because he delights in steadfast love.

(Micah 7:18)

Nothing is so great that God cannot intervene on our behalf. His power is beyond measure. Therefore, how hard would it be for Him to rescue us in our time of need? For we can say, nothing in this lifetime is greater than the crown set aside for us in the coming age.

All glory belongs to the Highest, King of Heaven and Earth. Let all the angels praise His name, for He is good. There is no one greater than God. He reigns supreme above all things. Nothing exists that He has not made. He is the beginning and the end, the creator of all.

May God pour love into your heart so that you may become a perfect witness for others to follow. May your light shine in the darkness so that you may become a bulwark for those who are seeking the truth. Hold fast what is good, for God shows his love for us.

Worship God

We are to worship only one God, the Great God, Maker of all things and bountiful in mercy and grace. For by God’s grace we have salvation through His Son Jesus Christ, who He sacrificed for the forgiveness of our sins.

“Then I fell down at his feet to worship him, but he said to me, ‘You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God.’ For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

(Revelation 19:10)

Oh, how wonderful it is to raise our hands in praise to God our Father, who has given us eternal life through Jesus our Lord. His deeds are awesome and His ways are just, that from age to age, we have surety He will keep His promises.

God alone is our refuge. He is our strength and our bulwark. No other god can rescue us from our enemies. No other power can give us courage in the face of tribulation. Only God can save us from the penalty of our sins.

Let us drop to our knees and worship the God of creation. Let us give honor to the One who has given us breath. For only He can save us from the evil that lies in wait. Only He defeated Satan. Worship God.

Turn from Darkness to Light

Let us pray to the Lord our God for help. He is readily listening for our words. He wants to know us, and He wants us to trust in Him. Through Him, we are safe. Through Him, we will not perish.

“Rise and stand upon your feet, for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to appoint you as a servant and witness to the things in which you have seen me and to those in which I will appear to you, delivering you from your people and from the Gentiles—to whom I am sending you to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.”

(Acts 26:16-18)

From the first breath we took, God was there. He watches over us, making sure we will not stumble and fall. His angels surround us, protecting us in all that we do. We should not fear to have God the Father rescue us. He gave His son Jesus so that we might live.

Let us praise God for He is good. He loves us, guides us and takes care of us in our time of need. Let us praise Him for all His generous gifts. He blesses us with peace, gives us security and leads us through trial, when we need Him the most.

Let us give of our worship to the great and only God. For whatever we are suffering, He will give us rest. His love for us will never grow cold, for His love never fails. He will always look after us, and He will always be there for us.

Turn from darkness to light.

Pray Without Ceasing

What may seem impossible to us is possible for God. What may seem extraordinary to us is ordinary to God. He takes the weak of the world, imparts His spirit and builds His church. We are of the body of Christ, fashioned of the same countenance and saved by God’s grace.

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

(1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

Our purpose is to glorify God in all that we do. With Jesus living in us, we can do all things. Through Him, our destiny is sure. How much more would God do for us if He has already sacrificed His Son in order that we might be saved?

The devil will place stumbling blocks in our way. He will try to discourage us. He will bring us to tears. Yet, no amount of evil from that fallen angel will thwart God’s plan of salvation. God’s plan for us to live forever with Him will prevail.

Look to God for help. Call to Him, for He is good, righteous and just. He will not allow us to fall. He will lift us from our trials, comfort us with His Word, and deliver us from all adversities. His way leads to life, and He will always keep us safe in the midst of turmoil. Pray without ceasing.

Jesus Is Our Hope

Jesus came to save us from our sins. Had Adam not sinned, we would not have need for reconciliation with God. His Son, though, is our salvation, for through Him our sins are no more. God forgave us and we have hope for the coming days.

“For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.”

(Titus 2:11-14)

God sees our suffering, He knows what our trials are, and He gives us strength when we feel defeated, power when emptied from our wounds and joy when sadness prevails. He pours more of His spirit into us so that His eternal joy lives in us. We are invincible with God living in us.

No greater hope do we have than that of knowing God sacrificed His Son as payment for our sins. And if God would do that for us, what lies beyond the grave when He raises us to glory and honor, surpassing even the angels? Indeed, He has blessed us now with utter joy!

Our hope is in the resurrection, from a decaying body to an everlasting one, from a life with an end to living into eternity, and from sadness to utter happiness, brimful and running over. Jesus is our Hope.

God Is Love

Great is our Father who is in Heaven. He gave His Son Jesus as a sacrifice for the forgiveness of our sins. By no other name do we have salvation and by no other name are our sins forgiven. Glory to Him in the highest.

“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.”

(1 John 4:7-8)

God loves freely, unconditionally and without bounds. His nature affords life to all. Darkness does not exist in Him, for He is light. He bore light at the beginning of the world, and with it, He continues to impart His children with truth. The devil may tempt us, but God’s love endures forever.

God so loved us before He created us. He purposed our lives for Himself and provides us with the strength to overcome our trials. Whatever seems hard, whatever seems tough and whatever seems impossible to us, God gives us what we need to make all things possible through Him.

God’s love is perfect. God’s love is kind. It never departs when beaten, never flees when surrounded and never withdraws when sorrow wraps us in its cold grip; for God is love.
