The Lord Will Lift Us Up

God will not allow us to perish in vain. His purpose is to sustain us through trial, weariness and disease. He will bless those who look after the poor, take care of the weak and protect the faint of heart. He will restore us from calamity.

“Great is our Lord, and abundant in power;
his understanding is beyond measure.
The LORD lifts up the humble;
he casts the wicked to the ground.”

(Psalms 147:5-6)

Through the death of His Son, the risen Christ Jesus, God saved us. We no longer are prisoners to sin, but free to live a life filled with joy, brimful and running over. God will deliver us from illness. His promises are sure, firm and right. He will not abandon us.

There will be times we may feel alone, cut off and forgotten. Be not anxious, for our God, our Great God will prevail. When the darkest night sets, that is when the stream of light will appear to provide us with the hope for which we so long.

Give God praise. Bless Him in all things. He will surely deliver us from evil. He will look after us in our time of need. No disease is too great for Him to conquer. Set out to worship Him, for the Lord will lift us up.

  1. I appreciate this post because you are speaking on relationship. Worshipping God is due diligence for our relationship with Him. Remembering His goodness towards us begins with His incomparable love for us and is good for the soul. Thank you for sharing, Jack. Your reminders always bless my soul.

  2. What a profoundly comforting and uplifting reflection. ✨
    I appreciate how your words weave faith, hope, and reassurance so beautifully, reminding us of God’s steadfast presence in trials and His power to restore, protect, and uplift. The passage is both inspiring and heartening, offering a deep sense of peace and trust in divine care.

    I’m currently studying the period of the Puritans and reading 2 Corinthians at the same time. Both of these sources back up what you have stated here, Jack. Certain Puritans went through lifelong periods of physical illness and still managed to minister to others. The Apostle Paul is a great example of someone who experienced great trials. The Bible is full of cases like Paul. Every Christian will go through things that are difficult but God will sustain us as promised in His Word.

    One of my blogging friends mentioned this week about the consequences of trees having no wind. If trees had no wind to deal with they would not need deep roots. If they had no roots, the first light wind might possibly blow them over. It is the pressure put upon them by the weather that causes tree roots to dig deep. The pressures that Christians face only cause us to look deeper for God’s assistance in difficult times. Our reliance on God and on God’s Word grows deeper.

    Thank you for this good and thought-provoking post, Jack.

    God’s blessings…
