Be Strong in the Lord

O how great our God is to have blessed us with access to His throne. O how wonderful He is to have opened His doors to His mercy seat. May the cherubim and seraphim praise His name on high, for by His high priest, Jesus Christ, we are saved.

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.”

(Ephesians 6:10-13)

We ought not to be anxious for this present suffering we endure. Jesus suffered as we have, even more so, endured a greater suffering. Yet, by His stripes we are healed. By the strength with which He overcame temptation, we also will overcome our temptation.

When we are weak, we are strong. When we are unable, He will enable us. Only Jesus can give us power to rise from our struggles and pour our hearts into all that He wants for our lives. No other purpose is important other than serving Christ our Lord.

Brothers and sisters, be strong. We have the promise that Christ will one day come again. His mercy will never fail. Therefore, seek God wholeheartedly, holding fast the truth and always remembering to be strong in the Lord.

  1. I think about Ephesians Chapter 6 a lot. Sometimes I let my guard down, and it doesn’t work out too well.

Thank you, Jack Flacco. I need to always remember God is my strength in my weakness.
